Almost every weekday morning I go for a ride in the park near my home. More and more riders have discovered my little piece of heaven and have started riding there.
This makes my morning rides a lot more interesting and a bit more dangerous, as the novice riders are erratic.
So now, I need your help developing a rule of thumb - clearly identifiable traits of novice bike riders.
Clothing for instance:
Rider wearing shorts or tights that show too much bodily contour from behind: novice rider
Rider wearing shorts with a clear panty-line: very-novice rider
Rider with a single banana poking out of the middle pocket of her jersey: clever rider (probably single)
Rider wearing a long sleeve Brooklyn Bubble-Gum wool jersey - if grey-haired: veteran bike rider otherwise: child of above
Rider wearing a bright yellow sweatshirt and dark sweatpants: veteran American rider (guess who)
Rider wearing a winter parka: commuter
Rider carrying a fishing rod in his backpack: bum

BTW: Do sweatshirts count as classic bicycle-wear?
