I can see some semblance to the Gipiemmes, but I think these cranks still have more material than those in the photo. Also, the soft edges on the spider are the result of what looks to be hand-filing to round them out, with no polishing to finish off the job. It's somewhat evident in this photo (you can see the file marks):

Is there a way to test the cranks for whether they're melt-forged or cold forged?
This has been interesting in that there's no obvious answer as of yet. I just sent off an email to Campagnolo via their website to see if they would care to share any thoughts.
I got the cranks for virtually free so there's no loss if they're "fakes".... and their conversation-piece value has been very high so I thin k I've already recouped my costs. :-)
