What a great question ... Same here. I always mount my bicycle from the left. That is to say i swing my right leg over the top bar first. It could well have been because the drive train was on the right and it probably just made sense to keep limbs and clothes away from the drive train so as not to get hurt or dirty when attempting to mount a bicycle. But to tell you the truth i don't really know if this is the reason why i do mount from the left.

Having said that .. now that i also ride a tandem i still mount from the left even though the front drivetrain is on the left also!! So now i guess it has just become habitual.
