Subject: [CR]Brooks saddle question

Hello everyone my name is Ted Baer. I am happy to be back on the CR list and am doing much better after a complete mental breakdown leading up to the holidays.

About myself: I collect fine vintage Campagnolo, Simplex, Cinelli and other components. I sell under the handle "kjnkjnkjn" on eBay. I have a bunch of bicycles but cannot seem to get myself to ride any of them. My most recent purchase was a 1961 Olmo Deluxe complete with first generation Campagnolo cranks. OFF TOPIC but of note to all: I am not the Ted Baer who can be found on "Google" who makes wind-mills out of bicycle wheels for third world countries; ("Google" Ted Baer and you will see what I am talking about.)

Enough about myself.

I know this list has been through this topic many times but I am still confused with the answers I am receiving from folks elsewhere. Hopefully someone on this list can help set me straight:

I have numerous Brooks saddles. There are letters and numbers engraved on the back chrome U-shaped piece under some of the saddles. And there are ink stamped numbers stamped on the underside of the leather on other saddles. After much research on the web, it appears as though Brooks lost their serial code book for the saddles. My question is this: Has anyone kept their own records for Brooks date codes that are accurate? And if so, can this information be found on the web? If anyone knows of a link, I would really appreciate a note off-list.

Thanks.
