Ted,
Yes, 1960s because of the size of "spring cover." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1961 - In July a revised Gran Sport rear derailleur is introduced with a 10mm spring cover (was 8mm) to improve shifting on six-speed freewheels. Note that six-speed freewheels are not commonplace until the mid-1970s! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1963 - In October the Record rear derailleur (chrome plated bronze) is introduced. This has a revised cage shape with the pivot behind and closer to the jockey pulley and center punched rivets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I believe your mod. "CAMPAGNOLO" derailleur is a revised and renamed Gran Sport to be sold as a lower priced derailleur next to the new 1963 Record rear derailleur. So that would date your "CAMPAGNOLO" derailleur to 1963 or a little later; my best guess.
Regards, Chuck
Does anyone else have any thoughts or opinions about the date of the mod. CAMPAGNOLO derailleur?
