If anyone is interested, I have a photo of a french tourist and his bike, taken in Chitwan National Park in Nepal. The bike was a "Rando", cusom made by a Paris shop, the rider said. He had the heaviest load I've ever seen a non-German carrying. Emailme for the photo, which shows the bike unloaded, with rackdetail.
