The Schwinn Paramount P15 came with a regular NR front derailleur. I've also swapped the NR triple crankset out for a modern Sugino XD and the derailleur still works even with the different chain line. I've also dropped the derailleur down the seat tube to accommodate a 44t big ring and it works fine. It makes you wonder why there are so many different front derailleurs today for road, mountain, compact, triples, 9 speed, 10 speed and no one is satisfied until they have the one that matches the set up they have that day.
