Subject: [CR]Triumph Gran Course?

This bike didn't meet reserve last night. Supposedly 1985, but lugged steel, 531c with Campy SR, so I think it is on-topic:

Does anyone know the story here? I thought Raleigh only used the Triumph name on three speed roadsters and such like. Could this be a model sold by Raleigh USA, i.e. Huffy? However, it has a decal that says "Handmade in England". Did any of the Raleigh USA models have English-made frames?

We don't discuss Raleigh USA products much here, because many would be off-topic, but its seems to me that some of the early models were very nice indeed and would deserve KOF status. Maybe that shouldn't be so shocking, as the long-time owner of Huffy (Mr. Huffman) is said to have been a great lover of top quality cycles, despite the nature of most of the bikes he manufactured. So he sort of bought his way into the quality lightweight market in much the way Raleigh themselves had done with the acquisition of Carlton.
