Dave, Paid a rare visit to the Smoke. Rode to Bangor and trained it to Euston. Had several offers for my ancient track iron from several bike messengers on the way. Had a drink with a couple of them in the Lamb, what a wonderful pub with the snob screens. You can't beat Youngs beer shame we can't get it easily on draught in Wales. Anyway back to cycling they are mad for old track irons or 70's USWB TT frames with vertical dropouts to ride on fixed. Like an idiot I asked why the vertical ends for fixed must be a nightmare to get the chain tension right. What a dummy I am. Turns out they ride a hub called an Eno which is eccentric so that you can get you chain tension on vertical dropouts. You should see some of the stuff they ride the pedals they are all on are RX-1 with clips and straps bit like the old Suntour Superbe Pro's. The straps are called "Toshi's". They are all on a saddle make called Kashimax, they look really comfortable must get one. One of them was riding a great 50's Paris Path he had no idea what it was until I said. This messenger thing is a real way of life there own magazines, pubs and cafes. Take care Joe. Croeso Cymru Joe King Nr. Maenaddwyn Ynys Mon Wales
