Greetings CR Mates---

Up for sale today are two Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleurs, one front, one rear. They are an “unmatched” pair. We start with the rear and work forward-----

1960 GRAN SPORT REAR DERAILLEUR

This is a 1960 edition of the so-called 3rd generation Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur.

It is a 1960, (June '61 at the latest), not only because it came off a 1960 original equipment Italian bike (not my take off, wouldn't do it!), but because it lacks the rear cable slack adjuster screw (which disappeared in 1960) but HAS the smaller, 8mm spring cover, which was enlarged by Campy to 10mm in July of 1961. (Per Chuck Schmidt's Campagnolo Timeline) http://www.velo-retro.com/tline.html and see examples at John Barron’s site---

This rear d is in fine shape with excellent chrome, with just a minuscule amount of peppering in a couple of nooks and crannies and a little wear inside the pulley cage. Strong spring. It has extremely clear letter forging of CAMPAGNOLO GRAN SPORT on the faceplate. It does not suffer from the woes of many of the Gran Sport rear d's which have lettering which is difficult to discern. A very nice piece for a vintage build or restoration for all but the most incredibly picky.

PRICE: $65 SHIPPED

OLD GRAN SPORT PUSHROD FRONT DERAILLEUR

The cage has the later, less ornate Campy script, as is illustrated so well on John Baron's VeloStuf site. If you go to John’s site, note the loop on the "L" in Campagnolo is shorter on the later model. That's the version I'm offering.

This derailleur is in very decent shape for a user. Has some scratches and nicks and the typical wear. Not as nice as the rear derailleur to be sure, but a good rider while you keep your show piece in a drawer.
