Subject: [CR]Super Record Ti Crankarm Loosening

As a follow up to the recent Campy Ti BB discussion, I was curious if anyone else ever encountered a problem I had with the second-generation solid Ti spindle with crankarm nuts vs. bolts???

My problem was that the crankarms would work loose, suggesting that the spindle nuts did not provide the same pressure needed to secure the arms to the spindle. Recall the old shop days where the oldtimer mechanic insisted on using a mallet the pound on cotterless arms to the spindle, but I never subscribed to this brute method of affixing cranks arms, but maybe that's what was needed for this spindle/nut setup?!?!?!

Appreciate any other experience(s) with the Ti solid spindle crank arm mounting, or should I say dismounting!
