Hilary, and the list

Hilary, I'm pleased to hear that the clamp is on the way, and I'd expect it anyday as the actual postal transit time for smaller items from the UK to Australia as measured by postmarks and receipt is usually 7-10 days. I do appreciate that actual postal transit time is outside your control, but enquiries made with Australia Post/Royal Mail, indicate that apparent delay was outside the normal timeframes.

All my later messages to you were through to hilarystone@blueyonder.co.uk, and from peter_tutty@yahoo.com . I review my bulk (probable spam) every two or three days and did not find any messages from yourself. I have had no replies from you in ebay messages.

It was a difficult decision to "out" this situation on this list. I'm was very concious of the potential negative impact on both Hilary's and indeed, my own reputation. However in the end it was the only alternative left for me.

In any case, it does seem to have opened the lines of communication, and hopefully will satisfactorily resolve the matter. It would also be good to hear that the issues experienced by other list members are satisfactorily resolved as well.

I have answered your emails on more than one occasion ( have yopu checked what filters you have on your email as som e email software think Ebay replies are spam) and a replacement clamp was sent to you two weekas ago. Your gear was sent out within ten days of the auction finishing, I am sorry but I cannot be responsible for how long items take in the post. I will post you a second replacement tomorrow. I can only apologise for the post apparently losing your clamp. Perhaps if both arrive you could send the second one back. And I do apologise for leaving the clamp out of your parcel the first time round.

The text regarding the item stated clearly that the derailleur would be supplied with a chainstay mounting clamp. As my intended frame was without the necessary brazeon, the clamp was a vital requirement for me to make use of the derailleur, and it was on this basis that I bid on, and subsequently won the derailleur.

An email to Hilary brought a reply a few days later to the effect that he was away from home at the present, but that he would forward the clamp the following week. Reassured by this, I left things alone for a couple of weeks to allow for the postage time to Australia.

No reply has been received to any of them, although the email address in question was previously replied from, and most interestingly, at abouit the same time, Hilary made at least 5 contributions to the CR list from that same email.
