The seller mistakenly calls this a 1:9 scale model kit, but in fact an Italian friend of mine familiar with myths and legends of ancient Italy tells me that there is an Italian equivalent of Ireland's little people called "gnomi" and that certain very traditional Italians still strongly believe in the legend of the gnomi, a group of tiny bicycle riding gnomes that pick out one rider in Gira d'Italia each year and shower him with all the luck that is required to win a major bike race. My friend surmises that Mr. Bozzi actually built a short run of these special bicycles expressly for the gnomi and that they were merely packaged as 1:9 scale model kits to save his bicycle business and himself from public ridicule for having done so. My friend also speculates that Mr. Bozzi was hoping to flatter the gnomi into helping his grand marque to one more win. The frame is steel and lugged. The tubing is reputedly the exceedingly rare Columbus SLG (Superlight Gnomi), the first and only triple butted Italian tubing made during the 1960s. Decals are provided, of course. ;-) 180044743644
