Good thing it was a miss 'n out, which I don't particularly care for anyway.

But if Chuck "the prankster" was announcing, how could you NOT like it?

In 1975, most of the time could only watch the Junior Miss 'n Out, but one session not enough Intermediates came so the guys who did got to ride with the Juniors, The devil that day was quite fun, as while the juniors were riding 84" gears at the time I was on a 79". So, knowing I would be a danger in the final sprint, I hung out at the back and proceeded to put out any number of capable Juniors, exploiting the snap of a smaller gear. It did cost me however, as I put out Gil Hatton and he took his revenge much later in the season providing Mark Whitehead a way to finally win a race from me late in the year.

Curiously, during the track World Championships at ADT, I walked through the infield, looking for 650c wheeled bikes. I did not see one, either track or road. Then again, no one had Speedplays, either.

I think that is a function of the UCI sanctioning, at least for the wheel size, if I read the rule book correctly its 700c on both wheels now. Having seen guys pull out of snap in pedals, give me clips and straps please.
