I don't believe the lighting at an indoor velodrome is beyond the capabilities of today's TV cameras. Rather, I doubt there are directors and cameramen who understand the sport enough to do a good job of presenting it. A Madison can get confusing even to a cyclist who's seen a few. Look how many decades it took for the Tour de France to be intelligently presented on TV in North America. As for a 6-day, it would look as boring as a cricket match to North Americans or a baseball game to Brits.
