I rode that bike, it is a repainted 1950 Gillot. I can't remember the rider's name, but he is a friend of Joel Metz. I first spotted the bike saturday out side the exhibition hall at L'Eroica and was admiring it when the owner came along and we started talking bikes. It had a bit of tire clearance so I think it may have been a Path Racer type of fixie, he didn't have much history on the bike but knew it's age from the serial#. I wish i remembered the owner's name, he let me ride it around 'the block' and it rode beautifully smooth, not twitchy like a steep angled track bike. I just got home from 16 sunny days in Italy, including L'Eroica, and now am watching the snow come down while I unpack. I will have an extended L'Eroica report in a few days.
