Cyclart did of very nice job (to the extent I can judge) of repainting a Frejus in these colors for me a number of years ago. That bike is owned now by list member (?) Takao Noda. I suspect the chromovelato type paint is pretty tough to get right. It was used on other frames. I will add the a "correct" Frejus restoration is really tough because there are so many color, decal and headbadge variations.

> For a few years during the late 1960s I had the pleasure of
\r?\n> riding a
\r?\n> friend's wonderful Frejus track bike.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> This bike had a beautiful full chrome finish with headtube and
\r?\n> downtubepanels overlayed with a stunning blue lacquer of some
\r?\n> sort which looked
\r?\n> like clear mylar against the chrome.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> For some reason this had never chipped or peeled off - at least not
\r?\n> during the many thousands of road miles I had ridden on the
\r?\n> bike. I
\r?\n> don't recall seeing this treatment on any other bikes, either
\r?\n> before or
\r?\n> after. I have seen a lot of transparent lettering decals and also
\r?\n> attempts to paint over chrome, but none were ever so successful
\r?\n> as this.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> I does anyone know of a painter or framebuilder out there who
\r?\n> has had
\r?\n> success with this type of finish. I would love to reproduce this
\r?\n> effect either on some future refurbishing project, or perhaps
\r?\n> even on a
\r?\n> brand new custom frameset. It is a look one never forgets.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Does anyone know about this process? And, why was this never
\r?\n> used on
\r?\n> other framesets?
