I think it is a Toei from what I can read. No, I don't read Japanese, but I use the Mozilla Firefox browser withe the Foxlingo extension (both free). These allow one to translate pages using several translation engines almost instantly. Classic bikes are great, but classic browsers are terrible.
I have some bookmarks related to Toei and small wheeled bikes, but I'm not sure if they are on-topic?
Also, we've received another shipment of those EDCO headsets if anyone else wants one.

It appears to be a Cyclo derailleur shifter from a late 1930's Cyclo Standard or Oppy. This would work OK with a 2 speed hub gear despite no lever "indexing" if the low gear was selected at the extreme end of the levers pull, high (direct drive) would engage once the cable went slack.

Greetings, CR Mates---
I was the fortunate fellow who won the ebay auction for the 24-inch Schwinn Ladies Paramount Deluxe that was recently on ebay and which Don Wilson outted to the List and Peter Weigle commented upon. Link to auction is below.
The bike has arrived and, despite its paint issues, it is absolutely lovely. Once the bike is cleaned up and reassembled I will be posting detailed photos of it to the List.
But to cut to the chase---------
My question concerns the Record cranks. Each arm is date stamped 67, and I am wondering if this was something Campy did in the factory for all their Record cranks of that era, something they did for Schwinn, or something Schwinn itself did pre-assembly of the bike?
The date stamps do not have the typical Campy cleanliness to them---they look rather crude---and so I am guessing Schwinn did this. But I'd like to know for sure.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Kurt,
You asked:
> What disginguised this sort of GS seatpost from a

> identical to NR ones I've had.
This is very interesting. Let me pause the movie ("Kramer vs. Kramer".)
I am looking at the 1982 Campagnolo catalog. -On page 4 you will see the Super Rec group with post #4051/1 (Nuovo Super Record Seatpost.) -On page 5 you will see the Nuovo Rec group with what appears to be the identical post but with part #1044 (Record Seatpost.) -On page 6 you will see the Gran Sport Road Group with post #3800.
-Turning to page 34, you will see three seat posts. The following models are listed at the top of the page: 1044, 3800, and 4051/1. There are three photos of seatposts below. First post is 3800 Gran Sport two-bolt style, next photo is 1044 Nuovo Record two-bolt style, and the post on the far right is 4051/1 Super Record single bolt style.
Could Campagnolo have put the wrong photo (a photo of a Super Record post) on page 5 in with the Nuovo Record group?
I think so.
Take a look at the 1984 catalog. You will notice that the problem has been corrected.
I have no idea as to what the difference is between the Gran Sport and Nuovo Record seat posts.

Nic,
Nice work, thanks for sharing. I used to use A. Hague bits (in the late 70s), and your web page reminded me I have a 2-page black-and-white brochure from that era, describing their custom handlebar stem making system. I scanned it and you are welcome to add it to your website if you see fit.
http://bulgier.net/
Those above are about 600 x 800 pixels and a reasonably small quick download. I also put the full-size (300 dpi) scans up, in case anyone needs it bigger. They're 4 times as tall and wide, about 1 MB each (so, still not too terribly big):
http://bulgier.net/
He describes the profits to be made with a custom stem business (!?), and describes the building process in some detail.

Before I list it on eBay, I'm offering a Sturmey Archer ASC hub, dated October 1949, to list members. Pictures can be viewed at:
http://smg.photobucket.com/
It's been overhauled by Hilary earlier this year, and not used since. The spoke holes are in excellent condition, as is the alloy shell, apart from some minor scuffs.
The sprung cover for the left-hand ball cup oil hole is missing, but Hilary confirmed that this will not present a problem. If oil should weep from the hole while in use, then it can be plugged with grease, but these hubs aren't oil tight anyway. This oiler hole was omitted altogether on later models.
Price is GBP175, plus shipping.
If interested, please contact me off-list. I'm happy to answer any queries.

Hi Peter,
Bikes shown could be TOEI's but the copy lines said THE BAG SPECIFICATION FO R TOEI (TYPE?) SUPPO®T/CARRIER.
This site is setup for a leather craftman who said "It cannot reply to an English e-mail."
The site is title as "KURAFUTO KOBOU" means "Craft Workshop"
