Subject: [CR]Early, Record front der. cable housing stop?

Victor asked:

"I have an early Record front derailleur on a Cinelli SC that has the non slotted cable guide. I picked up this bike recently and as it is currently set-up the cable comes up from the clamp on cable guide and is bypassing the der. guide. Obviously this is not correct (although, it seems to work fine) and I assumed that there should be a short piece of cable housing from the clamp-on BB guide up to the stop on the der., but there is no cable housing stop on the BB guide. Is there a BB guide that has a housing stop that is to be used with the early Record der. or am I completely misunderstanding the cable run?"

The old style Campagnolo clamp-on BB cable guide had a tube-shaped cable guide on the drive side for teh rear derailleur cable and on the non-drive side was a cable housing stop. This is the same cable guide that Jack Gabus was asking about last week. They are not overly easy to come by.
