I wanted to write a short introduction for those who may not know me from around BikeForums C&V. And those who do, hello again.

I started cycling again May of last year when I got engaged to my now wife. I wanted to drop a few pounds in the upcoming year before the wedding that I had gained from my new desk job. After buying the engagement ring and being a college student I didn't have a lot of money to start with. Within a few weeks of searching on ebay I purchased a local 1980 Schwinn Traveler. In the weeks to follow, while cleaning and fixing the schwinn I found BikeForums and their Classic & Vintage section. The rest, as they say, is history.

I've since sold the Schwinn to someone who fit it better (it was a 63, I ride a 58 ideally), purchased an 84 Centurion Sport DLX which I customized and fitted with a NOS Shimano Golden Arrow group. Shortly afterwards I was introduced to Dutch frames by Marty Eison who helped me locate and purchase an early 80's Gazelle Champion Modial. The 531c frame fit me even better than the Centurion and promptly became my favorite and primarly bike. I've also added another steel Schwinn to the collection, a 86 Passage touring bike.

I enjoy riding them all, each with different characteristics, and all three see many miles of use. I love the looks of their thin tubes and crafted lugs. The way the steel frame soak up the road yet transmit just the right feel to my hands wrapped around bars made by Cinelli or 3TTT. And I look forward to many many more miles, and look forward to adding at least a couple more to the collection in coming years. I also look forward to learning more about the classic brands and equipment here on CR.
