Ahh -
Fortunately for us less able to indulge, Herse often used Brooks saddles as well - so there is really nothing wrong with decking out an Herse with a peroid Brooks saddle, it could have left the shop that way!
And later on Herse (and Singer) often used Campy or even Shimano parts (late Herse) when the need and application called for it. So with the top-dog French builders, there was none of the urge I've seen by many modern collectors to make it all French. They used what worked.
