This was a fun topic. Thanks to Ray Dobbins for the suggestion and help of posting photos. I had no idea it would stir up so many e-mails.
I have received lots of excellent advice and many entertaining responses. Not one vote for restore!
I really like the idea of using some less than perfect components to build up the bike. I'm glad I saved a few of those old campy brake cable housings. I just need to find some dirty/faded red handle bar tape. Lord knows I've got plenty of crank arms with "light shoe rub".
The topic has certainly been thoroughly hashed around. ... Now where did I put that stick pin and glass?
