Subject: [CR]Nice Xmas Stocking Filler on French Ebay

I have decided to cancel Christmas in the Lockley household this year and, with the money I shall save, I will make an attempt to buy the 1948 Caminargent bike that has just appeared on french Ebay today - Item 220051426558.

The bike looks to be almost original - but no Caminargent rear mech - and is in good condition.

The seller who is known to a number of CR List members - he might even be a member of the List, is the celebrated jazz musician Stan Lafferiere. He has written part of his ad. in English and is able to correspond in English, so there would be no problems for anyone wanting to ask quedstions.

It seems that Stan, who has a good stable of bikes, including a very rare 1940s Bernard Carre, might be in the process of slimming slown his stable, for only a couple of weeks or so ago he sold off a very attractive Hurtu frame.

As I recall the staring price is around 800 euros, with a BIY price of 1200, or was that 1800? He is prepared to ship to the USA and gives a ballpark figure of 200euros.

The bike is dismantled ready for shipping..but is complete in the picture. seems like a bargain for such a rare beast.

Had the frame not been a 55cms..a 50/52 would suite me better, I think I would have bought this machine..but I did have and then sold my almost NIB Caminargent 55cms frame some years ago because of its size.
