I owned a Gitane Hosteler in my early teens (early 70s), and the original equipment saddle was an uncovered/unpadded "Unicanitor-Style" Freccia (sp??) black plastic saddle with bag loops. Put tons of miles on that saddle. Strange selection for what was a touring machine with fenders, racks, lights, etc......but the bike was French made so......just a joke y'all!
I've been trying to date a Swallow-Style San Marco leather saddle that is pictured on my Wool Jersey album. Still would greatly appreciate anyone's guess on the age. Looks like it may have been a great saddle choice for early Bianchis???
