Haven't heard that name in a few years, but Mario was one of the main guys selling classic bike parts from a web site just before eBay really caught on. I bought several items from Mario, no problems, the quality was always good. Just haven't heard about him in a while.

Boston area, I believe? Anyone know him?

I had bought a number of things from him a few years ago and these auctions look like the sort of stuff he carried - lots of high-end campy stuff, vintage Italian accessories, often in combined lots... and also Leica, Hassalblad, Nikon camera stuff.

He was selling Silca pumps in various colors and sizes, binda toe straps, lots of REG band-on accessories. It was lke browsing through a 70s Ron kitching catalog.

He always delivered fast and also offered me a number of nice deals off-ebay when I expressed an interest in certain items (like Campy pump heads, for example).

My impression was that he indeed had some sort of a connection to a motherlode of vintage cycling goods - either on the east coast of perhaps even in Europe. Maybe he's helping a partner or relative periodically liquidate a large stash... somewhere.

Worth checking out and verifying, at least.

I think this is a legitimate seller who's ID got hijacked: or else he stumbled on the motherlode of high flange hubsets. I believe I've bought stuff from him in the past with no complaints. Plus it looks like the legitimate auctions have pictures, and the hijacked ones don't I hope no one bought the hubs at the super high BIN price without making dead sure this is legit.
