CR members,

Just a quick note to say that the BQ web site has been updated. We added a few new products:

- Cycling's Golden Age. Lovely photo history of European racing 1946-1967. All the greats in previously unpublished photos from the Brett Horton collection. It's a beautiful book. Worth it just for looking at the details of the bikes (and support cars - like the Cilo car with slots in the fender tops, so the wheels of the spare bikes fit). And why did Bahamontes ride cottered cranks on his training bike as late as 1960?

- Vélocio. Great book on the "apostle of cyclotouring," inventor of gear changers, etc. If you read French, it'll give you a great insight into the history of cycling from the 1880s until 1930.

- Grand Bois Cyprès 700C x 30 mm tires. A true 29.5 mm wide classic tire - gum sidewall, file tread. Looks a lot like a Clement Campionato del Mundo, but a bit wider, and a clincher. We expect these in the next week or two, and are taking orders now.

Also new is a page that presents our editorial team. Still a work in progress, more names will be added...

Beyond that, image archive, table of contents, bike test page and glossary have been updated with contents from the Winter 2006 issue. (That issue is in the mail, expect it in the next 2-3 weeks.) -- Jan Heine Editor Bicycle Quarterly 140 Lakeside Ave #C Seattle WA 98122 http://www.bikequarterly.com
