John and all,
Most of the serial numbers stamped on Cinellis that I've seen are
under the BB shell. I'm sure you are aware of this. Very cool Cinelli
(which is redundant), BTW. No doubt what you have is authentic and an
EXTRA cool Cinelli, which isn't the only one in your collection from
what I've seen.

I just acquired a late 50's Cinelli that was built for the Italian
National Team- UVI (Unione Velocipede Italiana) that has some stuf stamped at
the seatlug:

I have not personally seen a number stamped in a seat lug on a Cinelli, although my observations are admittedly limited. I've only seen this
on Windsor frames. But this bike sure looks authentic and I have little
doubt that it's the real thing.
I have a similar vintage SC with no serial number on the seat lug.
This bike is a bit unusual in that it has a chromed rear triangle and
front fork. It sure brought a nice price. I'm curious about other members'
observations.
