For anybody looking for a classical keeper of the flame bike, but still wants to avoid indexed shifting and such, there are two very ineresting bikes being offered by Italian ebay vendors.

The first is a 53.5 cm C/C De Rosa 35th anniversary bike from 1988. http://ebay.com/<blah>

The bike is being sold by Alessandro Nati and apparently has never been ridden. The bike will require a bit of cleaning and perhaps a new set of tires after 18 years of storage. There is also a possible issue with the chrome on the chainstays, but otherwise everything is exactly as it should be. It even comes with the original warranty card and all! These bikes had a unique paint job, as well as pantographed brake calipers and stem. Dale Brown has one in his collection. I too have one and it is perhaps my nicest riding bike. I believe the starting price to be very fair as the pantographed brake calipers from this bike on their own have sold for in excess of $600 before (just ask the bike pimp Ben).

The second is a 56 cm C/C Masi Super Prestige, also from the late 80's

This bike is similarly equipped to the De Rosa, while it has been used, it does not however appear to be overly used or worn. The saddle would obviously need to be replaced if you want a period piece but otherwise I can't find much fault.

Both sellers are dependable and honest sellers who understand how to pack bikes for shipping overseas.
