Jeez Louise people. . . . . . . get over it. If one reads the article, and doesn't get hooked by the big numbers, those poseur doctors are doing 20+mph loops around central park, not too poseur like to my eye. I know alot of riders who own Serotta, Guru, Seven (name your high end favourite here) and they put considerable miles on their bikes, I only wish I could put in that many miles in a year. Lots of disposable income often goes hand in hand with lots of free/leisure time. I believe the Serotta buyer in the article is putting about 70 miles a week on the bike.

Back in the late 70's early 80's how much would a top of the line Tommassini frame sold for? and the complete bike?

All I remember was it was more than I could afford and still feed the family.
