It has come to my notice that the late Rüdiger Rabenstein´s doctoral
dissertation "Radsport und Gesellschaft", "Cycling and society", has been taken off the shelves of its publisher´s. Left over copies are now being sold at greatly reduced prices (10 Euros compared to 20). I have
been told that it will not be available once the copies on hand will have been sold.
This book is easily the best study of early cycling (1867 - 1914) I know of, and everyone of you who has the slightest smatter of German should get a copy. There is a number of illustrations plus a large bibliography.
I am going to order two copies to be used as gifts in 24 hours from now
(nine in the morning New York time), so anyone who wants a copy can tell me so and join the fun. Allow another ca. 10 Euros or so for surface shipping to the US. A Euro is about 1.25 US-Dollars at the moment. My idea is that as I don´t have PayPal, people who have pre-ordered might send me cash when the books have arrived here.
Anyone who wants to deal direct with the new outlet for the book themselves should contact booksellers Frölich & Kaufmann on (Germany)
+49 30 469 06 20 or art@froelichundkaufmann.de.
