Sixty-Eight Years Ago...
Marius Chocque (60 years), Marcel Brébion (43 years), and Paul Guignard (62 years) attacked the record (triple) for the 222 km route from Havre to Paris. Heavy fog along the route make breathing difficult, but the trio was able to average 30 kph. The photos show the 9:00 AM start in Havre (left) and the finish 7h15m later in Paris. From "Le Miroir des Sports" No.1035, 1 November 1938.
