The current '74 Masi listed on eBay with supposed connections to Roland & Mario certainly appears to be a fine example of the work from the Carlsbad production facility.

However my question is regarding the obsession of sellers who try to always link a Masi to Mario's hand. In my mind this sorta disregards the efforts of the other fine worker bees who were associated with the Carlsbad production team.

In so many words...is a Masi touched by Mario superior to all the other production?

A good question. Here would be an answer, as I have benefited from one.

While I cannot write very accurately about the current ebay bike #911, my hunch is that it was made to measure, so the bike will fit perhaps better than a production bike. Selected tubing, things got mixed I have seen from time to time. If you are into it, some nice and or different details than on the production bikes.

From my personal experience, sound handling. My previous track bike was good enough but not confidence building. My Masi Sprint bike was stiffer. more stable and allowed me to do things that cost me some skin on my previous bike. Its pleasurable to look at too. From a racer's perspective, a psych weapon, nobody I was racing against (back then anyway) had a better mount.
