Hi all, I recently got hold of an English alloy Constrictor small flange
front hub. The axle has a lubrication point at each end with a small
sprung ball to prevent ingress of dirt. Has anyone an idea of when this
was made? And also who actually made these for Constrictor, BSA, Chater
Lea, etc?
The 1948 Constrictor catalogue shows them, with the information "We are pleased to introduce a new line in Conloy hubs". I have sent you a scan of the relevant page. I have no idea who made them, but I would think Hilary can supply that information. They do bear a striking resemblance to the Chater-Lea hubs from the same period I currently have for sale on ebay.
