Hey All! It's been a while since I've had time to work on my bikes, but the other day I bought a late '70's Colnago Super 52CM w/ a S/N of 124. It's basicly a trashbin bike I paid a few $ for. First the good: The Crank, BB, and brakes appear to be Campy Record. The cranks are marked <8>, so I'm assuming 1978. The seatpost is Campy, the stem and bars are Cinelli (Campione del Monde). The forks are full chrome w/ 531 stickers (can this be right?). Hubs are Record, rims are Super Champion. It has "Colnago" engraged in the chains stay caps, One clover in the lower head tube and one in the BB shell. No top tube or seat tube decals, "Colnago Super" on the chain stays. Very few decals or engravings compared w/ many Colnagos I've seen. The Bad: It's pretty rough, paint and decals pretty faded, LOT's of paint chips and scratches, brake hoods missing. A small dent in the downtube and some surface rust on the top tube under the brake cable. Missing both original F and R DR's, replaced w/ Shimano bits. So the question is, do I restore it or make it look nice to keep as a wallhanger, part it out, sell as-is (or w/ era DR's), fixie (ugh), or use the good bits on my similar vintage Bertin where possible(currently Campy GS)...? Any ideas? It's WAY to small for my wife or myself...
