Phil & Gerry,
Many thanks. That Sierra Nevada is a wonderful beer a little bit strong
at 5.6% and a tad to sweet for British palates. Thats just a minor
niggle buy I would put it up amongst the best beer I have tasted. It was
so
good I brought home six bottles in my saddle-bag. Every time we were
descending a hill it sound like sleigh bells all the way home!
Interesting what you said about wine, American wines have a wonderful
reputation here in the UK along with South Africa and the South America
wine producing countries. French wine has gone the way of Simplex, Mafac
and Huret here in the UK.
Skull Attack is the beer you are thinking of brewed by Brains of Cardiff
right next to the station and Millennium Stadium. It is actually called
Brains SA but everyone refers to it as Skull Attack wonderful stuff.

Bass is a traditional beer which kept the flag flying here for decent
British beers for many years.
In the 60's and 70's a huge rationalisation of Breweries was taking
place, the big boys snapping up the smaller fry and closing them. We
lost a lot of wonderful beer then but thankfully this eventually started
a renaissance in brewing and its probably at its best ever for quality
right now. Bass has a lot to answer for as it is real fighting beer and
probably fuelled the worst union management relations in British
Industry and if the stories are to believed Claud Butlers production
output after a Friday lunchtime.
I was told that America before prohibition was one of the best countries
in the world for good beer but during those dark years of yours most of
it was lost, is this a fact? With beers like your Sierra Nevada you are
going to get the
same high esteem as your wonderful wine.
We still beat you hands down on the beer front, thats a great
description and so apt, but on the traditional steel frame building and
wine producing you definitely have the lead at the moment.
Hope none of you have seen the new Christmas Clarkson video on cars when
they but your American jobs up against our XK if you do you will be
tipping all our tea into the harbour again its not complimentary. If you
need any info on Brit bikes etc.
I will always try to help keeps my brain active.
Merry Christmas and lots of luck and laughter in the New Year to you
all.
Joe.
