Hello Pete: In my experience in selling bike stuff on eBay over the past couple of years, it can often end up as a "six in one, half a dozen in the other" type of equation. While parting out CAN often yield a higher profit, depending on the bike and components, you have to factor in how much time it takes to photo each item, list separate auctions, manage all sales, ship to many different buyers, make multiple trips to the post, etc. It can even itself out if you end up investing so much more into the sales process. Also, an NOS period correct COMPLETE DeRosa would be a very special bike and would surely fetch top dollar. I think a collector out there might already be foaming at the mouth based on your original posting alone! You can try an eBay auction with a high reserve price (based on your estimated value of the separate parts from the SR gruppo and frameset) and you won't be obligated to sell if that price isn't met. If the price isn't met, you can then list all items separately. Best of luck! Matthew Bowne Brooklyn, New York
