Yes, Jay, I've built three frames to date (which is paltry). I've also completed a few semesters of welding classes, including one entirely dedicated to brazing, so I do have an idea of what's involved and I think this scenario is entirely plausible. Take Ugo, who built frames for a living, then a son or two, add an few other assistants to help mitre/prep tubes, a paint man pumped full of espresso to keep him awake, and I can easily see this crew cranking out a frame overnight for Eddy. And no offense taken by your question, as it's a good one and I would have asked the same thing, if I was on the other side of the discussion.

Now relax, I'm not being arrogant, or snobby, or whatever. I'm honestly curious.

I have built bicycle frames. It's hard enough to build a TIG'ed frame in four hours (I've never been able to do it) let alone a lugged frame. There is a LOT of work involved getting tubes and lugs ready. Brazing or TIG'ing is the fast part. It MIGHT be possible to build a lugged frame overnight IF all a builder has to do is pull a pipe or a lug that has been pre mitered, prepped, and ready to go.

This overnight thing though; boy, it's pushing the limits of credulity. Personally I find it hard to believe. It would take more than one person to pull this off. But hey, I'm not Ugo. Or Richard Sachs, or.....you get the idea. There are better frame builders than myself.

my two cents.
