Interesting question...

If you are not a collector (which I assume you mean to be a person who wants to own accurate vintage bikes) why would you restore it at all? For resale?

The answer is almost always No to the question: "Should I restore a bike for resale".

Restored bikes are not worth much except to the person who cares about that bike.

If your purpose is just to sell it, save a lot of $ and sell it now to a person who will care about it and "collect" it... Dale Brown Greensboro, North Carolina USA

I have a Schwinn Paramount that might be a good candidate for a restoration project. It has chromed Nervex head lugs and a chromed fork crown. The only serial number I could find was stamped into the steerer as "D7398". I assume thats a 1973 model so it should fall into the proper category for this forum. It has a Reynolds 531 tubing decal, a stuck seat post and a stuck right side BB cup. Tell me if its worth restoring since I'm not a collector.
