Yes, $10K is serious money, but I think if this had really been the bike in the first photo, which is supposed to be a genuine ex-Merckx race bike, bidding could easily have gone over $10K.

A bike that got a nice result was the Mexico Oro which finished at well over $6k (sorry no link and I'm running out the door).
