Well, as often happens, one might find that such items were first made in the 1890's, but as far as more recent history, Dura Ace AX may have been the first in the early 80's. They actually had three different aero posts. Two were aero shaped their entire length to fit aero shaped seat tubes. The one I have fits a Tange aero tubeset, not sure what the other aero tube set was that AX matched. The third DA AX post was round below the insertion point but aero above like the later Campy C-Record. Perhaps C-Record also was made in a full-length aero version, as I believe Columbus briefly made an aero tubeset.
