HI CR list members, I've been asked to out these auctions for a local NON PROFIT organization, named "BIKES FOR THE WORLD",( I am not the seller, just the messenger) here in the Washington DC area.....one of the bicycles has already received comment about it's "cheapo" style head tube, head lug configuration a ladies LEJEUNE. I talked Keith into lowering the starting bid on all the bicycles the group is selling to $50.00. I'm pasting in Keith's link to me which lists the various on topic bicycles.Paste the auction item number into ebay or search by ebay seller name: BIKESFORTHEWORLD. Like I said I'm not the seller, just a local volunteer, with this group.....I know Harvey Sachs is also a local volunteer with this group. They do a lot of very good things for bicylists around the world, literally. This a new for this group to be selling on ebay,so have patience,it is all done by volunteers, with the exception of Keith Oberg the Executive Director, who draws some kind of salary from the organization. They literally collect thousands of bicycles each year, and are now starting to cull out some of the "classic road" bicycles to sell off to collectors. Good luck with the ebay auction(s) for the bicycles being offered for sale by BIKES FOR THE WORLD! Marty Walsh in Vienna,Va. USA
Marty,
We are putting an Alan frame up beginning this evening. It's item #29528856303 and although I don't know the year of manufacture, it is undoubtedly older than 1983.
We are also putting up an A. Boises French town bike, item # 150069501168, a Bickerton folder item #150069515749, and a Frejus ladies bike, item #150069503599. I think they are all older than 1983, or "classics".
Please let the Classic Rendevouz listserv know about this, and the great cause it will promote.
