Today an especially cool bike came in the shop where I work, ridden by none other than Canadian pro Gord "beat Cippolini in a sprint" Fraser.
The bike was an immaculate Gardin w/ 50th anniversary Campagnolo that Gord's father owned since new. It was made in Veneto, Italy and shares a lot of details w/ Battaglins of the period. Of course this led to a lot of jabbering about bikes .. and to my surprise hearing that Gord's retirement from racing has sparked the vintage passion in him. He says that he wants to find a couple (heh heh remember when you used to talk that way?) bikes he always had a thing for.
Hence a little plea to the list - anyone want to trade or sell a bike? He rides 56 or 57 c-t and wants a pantographed Bianchi or Colnago w/ NR/SR or something else "eenie" and 'flashissimo'. For trades he has a small stable of (way off-topic) bikes, some w/ provenance from the Tour de France and the Olympics.
He'd buy the right bike outright but possibly some sort of trade could happen where everyone wins.
