As some of you know, I am a cycling official. At this race I am assigned as Moto 1, means I'll be following the main group and helping to manage the team caravan.

The prologue had tons of people around the course, and apparently it was SRO at the top of the hill.

Todays road stage to Santa Rosa has an estimated 100,000 spectators along the 84 mile course, and there were a bunch for the finishing circuits in town.

Saw lots of on topic classic bikes ridden by spectators both days, hope that keeps the list keeper off my back....

PS time is short and internet access is not always available in the hotels, so I may not reply until I get home... ----------------------------------------------------------

well i was in santa rosa on my early 30's malvern star. boy did i get a lot of "wow" and "that's a cool bike" from many people. and quite a few stares from the guys in most of the bike booths. definitely unlike what they were showcasing. even ran into Jay Sexton, on his beautiful Olmo.
