Subject: [CR]On the subject of socks... (Was: Wool for this fool)

In the heat of summer, I've found nothing better for my feet while riding than to simply wear a pair of pure silk liner socks in my shoe. I went so far as to get a pair of shoes half a size smaller than my usual to accommodate these thin socks. But now, a couple decades later, I've darned and re-darned those socks so many times that in some places there's more darning than original silk.

Anybody know where to find plain silk socks like this? I used to buy them for $3/pair at the Army Surplus store on State St in Madison, but I'll be darned (heh...) if I can find them anywhere now.
