Ray, I think what you said about Lance Armstrong is being a bit to harsh a criticism. Lance very nearly died of testicular cancer and brain lesions. Why would he want to push himself to the limit by riding every tea cup race like Eddy did especially after coming so close to death? No the sponsors had him under orders to just concentrate on the T De F for maximum publicity and earnings revenue for their products. And it worked. I think its a little bit sneaky getting a riders name in who is out of the time line of the CR list by getting another ones name in who is. We all know that Eddy won ovr 1365 races but perhaps Binda and Lapize (about 400 each) were better riders than Eddy because they rode on very primitive equipment and on horrendous road surfaces with no real team suupport.
