Contrary to rumor of it being near Lansing, It is actually near Flint in the
little town of Schwartz Creek. This is the one of the three Assenmacher
shops that deals with vintage bikes. The other two shops are in nearby
Flint. Schwartz Creek is 49 miles from Lansing and I have just about worn
out the thruway between the two. The Schwartz Creek shop is managed ably
and with great warmth and friendliness by Steve Bender and often under the
watchful of Barbara, Matt's wife and about as helpful a person as you will
ever find in the bike industry. She is the one to ask about serial numbers
and such arcane information as might lurk in their large files. Gizmo, the
beloved dog oversees everything else.
Tip: ask to see the back room.
