Subject: [CR]Detail Question re Brake Housing

I'm finishing off a late '50s Italian road bike with Universal mdl 61 brakes, and don't know what color/type of brake cable housing is appropriate for the bike. I had originally used a housing with a clear outer sheath that allowed the spiral to show through, but don't know if this is proper. Last night I wasn't watching what I was doing and cut one of the housings, so now I'm faced with replacing the rear brake housing. I can either re-order the clear housing stuff from yellowjersey, or replace all the brake housings with something more correct. Feedback from the list would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what rear mech housing was used back then? I see what looks like an un-sheathed round spiral housing in photos, but have never seen anything up close. Right now I'm using a length of that clear coated brake housing.
