Subject: An old bikeshop practice (repost)

This thread caught my eye, as it's been many years since I've heard gasoline/diesel mentioned in a solvent capacity. In the late 60's -early 70's I worked in a shop that had a 5-gallon pail out back, which contained a 50/50 mix of diesel and gasoline - our parts washer.

We all hated to clean anything when it was cold outside, because our hands were painfully chilled after being immersed in it (only sissies wore gloves); don't miss those days at all!
