I seem to remember that the rivendell catalog had white plastic somethings.
I made the rear by file-ing a cable end insert that came from a off topic rear centerpull / catilever thingee that fit into the seat cluster and held in place by the bolt. For the front I modified a convex washer from a BMX brake shoe.
Also I briefly had a Motobecan bottom ender that had what looked like a piece of sheet steel crudely made into a tube with a wildly oversize hole for a rear seat stay bridge. There was another piece of metal that was inserted into it that took up the space. It was so crude/ugly yet effective that it inspired the above solution I perpetrated.
