I consider these very soft. They also have a thin section so they are relatively easy to get out of true from side to side also. I sold 100s of Motobecanes with these rims and it was a constant worry that customers would beat up the rims under normal use. On the other hand, being so soft, they are easy to true. Another reason people like them is that the thin section looks like a tubular rim.

In case people don't know, one reason for the soft alloy is that it increase the die life for the die used to make the rim extrusions. Die wear is one reason that rims can vary upward in weight and was often used as an excuse for those hokey low weights you used to see.
